IMAGE ET APPRÉHENSIONS "MONDIALES" DE LA CAUSE ENVIRONNEMENTALE

              La préoccupation environnementale mobilise depuis quelques années l’attention des scientifiques, politiques et militants écologiques qui s’attèlent à lui donner une résonnance particulière dans l’espace public international. L’objectif principal de ces différents acteurs est de faire prendre conscience de “l’urgence” d’un changement de comportement. La communication se présente ainsi comme le socle de cette action. A travers une exposition, un livre et un film, le photographe et cinéaste français Yann Arthus Bertrand est l’auteur de l’une des initiatives les plus emblématiques sur cette question. Cet article analyse la construction d’un discours écologique a visée planétaire (tant du point de vue de la production, des messages que de la réception) à partir d’un point de vue aérien. Les concepts de culture visuelle, de monde possible, de codage/décodage des messages médiatiques sont ainsi mobilisés pour étudier Le livre la terre vue du ciel et le film Home qui servent de corpus à l’étude.

              The environmental concern mobilizes for some years the scientists, the politics and the ecological activists who endeavour to give him a particular echo in the international public place. The main objective of these various actors is to make become aware of “urgency” of a change of behavior. The communication so appears as the base of this action. Through an exposure, a book and a movie, the French photographer and film-maker Yann Arthur Bertrand is the author of one of the most symbolic initiatives on this question. This article analyzes the construction of an ecological speech with global aim (both from the point of view of the production, the messages and of the reception) from an air point of view. The concepts of visual culture, possible world, coding/decoding of the media messages are no mobilized to study the book La terre vue du ciel and the movie home which are of use as corpus to the study.
