As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Instructions for Authors
All in-text citations and references should be formatted according to the UCT author-date guide.
The text should be single-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman (TNR) font
All illustrations, figures, and tables should be placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. Tables should contain titles placed above them, and figures should contain labels placed below them.
Data collection tools (e.g., survey, questionnaire, interview questions, etc.) should be included either as appendices or as separate documents.
All authors should ensure that their user profile includes information on their affiliation and position title.
Articles
Articles of 3,000 to 5,000 words (excluding references, tables, figures, and appendices) are most suitable, although longer works may be considered.
Book reviews
Should not be more than 750 words and must be relevant to professional practice.
Letters to the Editor
Letters (not more than 300 words) can be emailed directly to the Editor-in-Chief who will decide whether to publish the letter or respond privately. Letters will only be considered for publication if they are within the scope of the journal.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
When submitting their manuscript, authors should not list AI tools as a co-author, as AI tools cannot assume responsibility for authorship.
Authors may use AI technologies as research tools in the preparation of their manuscripts (e.g., to assist with data analysis or the creation of images). Authors should describe any use of AI technologies as research tools in the methods section of their manuscript in the interest of transparency, reliability, and integrity.
Authors should NOT use AI tools to write their manuscript, but they may use AI tools to help improve the language and readability of their manuscript.
