The Journal of African Real Estate Research (JARER)

The Journal of African Real Estate Research (JARER) is the official refereed journal of the African Real Estate Society (AfRES). It is accredited by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). JARER (ISSN: 2304-8395) is an open-access journal hosted by the Urban Real Estate Research Unit at the University of Cape Town. JARER is officially published by the University of Cape Town Libraries.

The African Real Estate Society (AfRES)

The African Real Estate Society (AfRES) is a continent-wide non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting research, networking, and education among property and real estate professionals and academics across Africa. AfRES is affiliated with the International Real Estate Society (IRES), alongside sister societies in North America (ARES), Asia (AsRES), Europe (ERES), the Pacific Rim (PRRES), and Latin America (LARES).

AfRES operates with no profit motive, and no individual receives payment for their services. The organisation fosters a culture of warmth, mutual support, and collaboration among its members and between sister societies. Anyone interested in contributing is warmly welcomed. Beyond the annual membership fee, there are no entry requirements for joining AfRES.
